Where are you located?

We are located on the NW corner of Alma School and Ray Roads in Chandler Marketplace. Our address is 1100 N. Alma School Rd., Suite 9 Chandler, AZ 85224.

What are your hours?

Client Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 9am to 3pm, Thursday 6pm to 8pm.
Donation hours: Monday through Thursday 10am to 2pm.
Boutique hours: Tuesdays-Saturdays 10am-2pm.

Do I need a referral to get clothes?

No. Please see Get Help for more details.

Who qualifies for free clothing?

Anyone who cannot afford to purchase the clothes they need. Please see Get Help for more details.

What do I need to bring?

A current photo ID. Please see Get Help for more details.

Do my children need to be with me to get clothes?

No. Children are not permitted in the shopping area so it is best to come at a time when you do not have the children with you. If you must bring your children, they must remain in the Kid Cabin or front sitting area.

Can I get clothes for the children I babysit?

No. Clothing is limited to the applicant, spouse, and children under 18.

How much clothing can I get?

The limits change from time to time depending on the current supply. Typically, each individual will be allowed four to seven items of clothing plus socks and underwear. Limits on household linens are one set of sheets, one blanket, or one set of towels per visit. Work boots, when available, are issued one time to men or women who need them for their job or to obtain employment.

How often can I come?

Once every three months. Eligibility is reviewed on an as-needed basis.

Is there any charge?

No. All the clothing is free.

What do you have besides clothing?

Shoes, household linens (towels, sheets, blankets) and occasionally, hygiene kits.

What items are most needed at Clothes Cabin?

Where and when do you take in donations?

All donations can be dropped off at the rear of the building, 1100 N. Alma School Rd., Suite 10, Chandler, AZ 85224, Monday through Thursday from 10am to 2pm.

I’m having a yard sale. Can I bring the leftovers?

Yes, but please remove the price tags and hangers, check your items for any flaws (stains, tears, missing buttons, out of season) that would make them unusable, and fold the clothing neatly before you bring them in. Please read How to Donate to a Clothing Bank.

Do you pick up donations?

No. At this time we do not have the resources to pick up donations.

Can I get a tax receipt?

Yes. One Small Step is qualified by the IRS as a tax-exempt charitable organization.

Does your organization qualify for the Charitable Organization Tax Credit?

Yes! One Small Step, Inc. is a Qualifying Charitable Organization for purposes of the Arizona tax credit. Cash donations up to $200 per individual and $400 per couple may qualify for the tax credit. See Donate for more information.

How are you funded?

Clothes Cabin is operated by One Small Step, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and is funded primarily through individual donations. It also receives support from foundation grants, corporate contributions, government grants and community organizations.

Are you affiliated with a church?

No. We say we are a Christian ministry because we operate by the Christian principles of respect and charity and we believe that community service to those in need is just one way of putting our faith into action. We help anyone in need, regardless of religious affiliation or any other factor.

Can I volunteer there?

If you are over 16 years old and can commit to several hours a week, please contact our Operations Assistant. There are many different tasks involved in running Clothes Cabin. Most people find their niche in a specific area of service: back room processing, client service, cleaning, shopping, or Boutique sales. See Volunteer for more information.

Can anyone shop at Friends Resale Boutique?

Yes! Friends Resale Boutique is open to the public. We encourage shoppers of all kinds to come see what unique finds we have in-store. Shopping in the boutique is a fun and great way to support the mission of Clothes Cabin.

What donations will you accept for Friends Resale Boutique?

  • jewelry and other accessories
  • decorative home goods
  • unused cosmetics and toiletries
  • gently used toys that are clean, complete, and assembled
  • purses and accessories
  • housewares
  • small appliances
  • baby items
  • small electronics in working order

I heard you wash clothes for free. What’s that about?

Clothes Cabin offers a free laundry service for its homeless clients only. On Wednesdays clients may visit Clothes Cabin and we will set you up at the laundry mat for a wash and dryer load.
